Pattaya lies on the South China Sea coast of Thailand, south of Bangkok. The resort is lively, with a fairly 'adult' atmosphere. Karaoke bars and cabaret shows offer a wealth of night-time entertainment.

Pattaya has good beaches and a range of watersports on offer, including diving, water skiing, windsurfing and parascending. Watersports are mostly to be found at Jomtien Bay nearby. Whether you fancy Kuitiao (a traditional Thai dish with noodles and vegetables, often with other ingredients added), spaghetti, pizza, steak, burgers or seafood, you can find it in Pattaya.

Activities

Thailand is a land of vast history and deep culture. The Pattaya region offers a number of opportunities to explore the wonders of Thailand. At Wat Yansangwararam there is a fantastic view from the top of the hill in addition to the Royal Chinese Temple and its associated museum.

The Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm near Pattaya boasts local plant and animal life plus a bonsai garden and a wildlife zoo that includes crocodiles. There is another tropical garden at Nong Nooch. This one has orchids, cacti and a landscaped park plus botanical gardens. Nong Nooch is also a cultural centre where you can watch traditional dances and customs of Thailand and sample local crafts. There is also an elephant show.

Elephants also feature at the Pattaya Elephant Village, where they play football, demonstrate their impressive skills as living forestry machines and how they were used in war. Visitors can book an elephant ride in advance. At the other end of the size scale, the Snake Farm has a wide range of snakes on display.

If you're seeking authentic Thai culture then Mini Siam will impress you. Mini Siam is a miniature town containing replicas of the great historical structures of Thailand. Also in miniature is the Bottle Art Museum which contains more than 300 exhibits of miniatures in bottles.
